Default R/C Bash

We are having a race in Pampa, Tx on Sept 18th around 3:00p.m. It is being put on by the Pampa hobby shop. It is a $15.00 dollar entry fee for the hole day. It is an off-road track, 15 ft wide lane, 130 ft straight a way, two table tops and a few jumps. They are also working on a 5th Scale oval. Location of the track is on HWY 60 east. While later post address of track location.

BMB
I plan on doing a little regular maintanance to the Baja this week, but that should be no problem. I'm just going to give it a good inspection and make shure all is well. I've been bashing pretty hard all week. She's earned a little rest and relaxation before the race.

I had no idea where the slot car track is, so I had to look it up. Here's the address and phone number in case someone else is as clueless as I am.

How is the dirt oval coming along? I just moved to amarillo and I race a 1/4 scale sprint car. Been racing at coody creek speedway in muskogee ok. Hope to race with you guys, willing to help build the oval also.

1/4 scale? I'd like to see your car in action. Nice...

I'm hoping to be able and make it over to Pampa soon to race my DuneRunner 1/5 scale 4x4 buggy. Need to visit hobby time in the slot car shop first.

The oval hasn't been used in some time. He was talking about building a new oval and was asking us what size to make it. I'm shure once they're ready to race, someone will post the info here so we'll know.

If the want to make the perfect dirt oval than they need to copy cat coody creek speedway. Www.coodycreekspeedway.com go check them out and click the rc car forum on the upper right corner. If the oval is clear id love to come and run some laps on it.

I've been there. I'm thinking of getting a qsac membership for next year so I can race out there. I was actually wanting to find an offroad track. I had the guys who own the track here in OKC all excited about 5th scales coming, and only 3 Bajas showed up. They havn't had enough nitro guys showing up, so they only had a couple races this year. I havn't had much luck finding another offroad track to race at. Why are they all Chicken? They seem to think 5th scales will tear up their track. Don't they know how to pack the track properly? I've been to several tracks this year just to check them out. I've found the answer is NO. I've talked to a couple track owners, and neither of them ever heard of using a vibrating steamroller on the track and the faces of the jumps. If they did that, they wouldn't worry about us tearing up the track.

:hi:some people think just because its bigger it will tear up a track. the people in pampa thought we would tear and they came and watched us and now they want more to come race. talked to them on wed. about the oval and it probaly might happen for next year, its gonna be about 125ft strait away with a 40 to 55 ft radius corner. it might change so we will see. i would love to see a 1/4 sprint in action, i am going to call them next week and find out more.

The gal at the slot car track who's trying to get this going was taking phone#'s so she could call us when they plan on racing. Would you like us to give her your phone #? Are you interested in off-road or just the oval?

Where are my manners? Hi Zack, My name's Charlie.

Yeah just the oval only. I have depth perception problems so me and offroad don't work well. Yeah give her my number if she wants my thoughts or opinions.

Will do, but it will probablly be tomorrow or the next day. I'll tell her your only interested in oval racing. I'm shure they'd be happy with any help figuring out what dimentions they should make the oval. They were asking us about it when we were there.

Don't forget about me over here in Borger. I'll do off-road or oval. I'm just looking for others with 1/5 scales to run with. Gets boring having limited places to run my DuneRunner. Hell I'd even sale my smaller scale electrics to buy something just for running on an oval...

Btw, Charlie and Zack, I'm Shawn. I live 25 minutes from Pampa over in Borger,TX. Been into RC for just over a year and got my first 1/5 scale back in June. I'm all for expanding large scale racing and interest into this area.

I just got off the phone with the slot car track. I gave them your ph# Zack. They've already got the oval laid out. I forgot to ask when it would be open, and how much they'd charge to practice. I have no idea if they've got a driver's stand set up yet. Just give them a call at the slot car track and I'm shure they'll give you any info you need. Once again, here's their phone number, (806)669-2226.

Looking forward to meeting you guys in person.

I'm not forgetting about you Shawn. The offroad track in Amarillo was talking about letting us have a race once their points series is over. I was told it's likely to be some time next month. I'm shure someone will post the info on here when they finalize the date. Keep your eyes open.
