I got it in and here are my initial thoughts: - Very well built - Does fold down flat for easier transport - will hold the vehicle easily (Mines an MCD RR V4) - The surface is a harder plastic of sorts, so you may want to add something to have it "grip" the chassis a bit more. Probably like that modification described concern that one stand that TGN's blog reviewed. - This will not tilt in a manner useful for RC and still grip the vehicle unless you do that mod mentioned above (the angle is too much). - You could however drill some holes and have more options for tilting by moving the pin - Too bad they did not have that same setup on the other side as you could have done that mod there, and then been good. (you'll see wha tI mean when you look at it, I may take some pics) - This does NOT spin. should be obvious but wanted to state it clearly All in all, I think you could actually make some sort of a bracket to give it more tilt functionality. If you are looking for a stand that spins, this is NOT for you unless you rig up something for it to do that. But if you want a quality stand that holds the vehicle in the air competently and can adjust height etc. for a low price, I think this fits the bill in my opinion. Please note however, I don't have any other 1/5 sized stands to compare to. Just going off of how it feels.

so far i am liking my stand. I think you could make some interesting mods more so than what has been done, maybe a clamping system or something. heck, you could even make another top deck that can tilt at more usable angles.

Good find maintguy69, I was thinking about what to do keep the chassis from sliding around while I'm working on it without having another hand holding it down. But ouch! $45 not including shipping that's a bit steep. I'm sure I can fab up something that will hold the buggy up. Btw thanks Cain for that Rigid top. Picked it up last week now rear end diff work is super easy! They were actually sold out or so they though at Home Depot so they just gave me the cardboard box thinking there was only one inside... Turns out it comes in a 2 pack. I returned the other so basically I got myself a free stand! Can't beat employee error!

so yo basically set it up like a starter box. why didn't I think of that, all those years of 1/8th scale buggies. that is why it's better to do alot of research

Thats a cool idea. So you just added the rubber stops to keep it in place, no other mods. Im gonna get one and do the same if its that simple. Looks real good.

The thing I don't like about the Rigid stand is that when you put the set pin once you have the top plate level there's a lot of play so it's not that secure. I almost had my Baja drop on my foot lol....I really should get that attachment for the Baja chassis to hold it in place! But the cool thing is I got mine for free so can't complain!
