I got talked into demoing my bike at RCX in Long Beach at 10:45am and 12:45 on Saturday. Just cruise around a pop a few wheelies I guess. :)

I wish! Hey CraftWerks, do you have an rc dirt bike? Anyways, mostly excuses for why not any updates... I have to get my backyard cleaned up before time changes, so Family stuff, trying to get backyard cleaned up, then got sick twice in one month have screwed my rc biking free time. I got some upgrades to the front brake I need to setup, a mod for the forks, and a different type of wheelie bar on my bike to test out. I have a track about 20 minutes away that I was supposed to hit up and take video once I get my act together and get all this other cr@p taken care of. ;)

Really bummed how dead this forum got though. :( I dont wany my thread to be the only one being active, thats not my intent here, just to show support. Long term, maybe 2014 I will try to see if the Cali guys want to do a rc dirt bike race, either north or south or both, but thats too far out to discuss now.

Good thing is my bike can sport the #1 plate all next year as RV absolutely destroyed the competition this year! lol.

I have an older Moto.... a Ricky Carmichael bike with some mods. One of these days I will pick up one of the newer bikes when I have more RC time. The bikes are a blast once u get the hang of them.

Took a day off to get out but I made it to a local track about 25 minutes from me, the Lompoc Valley RC Track in Lompoc, California. Its a community track with racing 1st and 3rd Sundays and gets prepped and watered for those days, otherwise its dry. Conditions were hardpack, dusty, and a bit bumpy. Track goes counter-clockwise and consists of a front straight with a 30ft double table top section that can be cleared by the 1/8 buggies, a sweeping corner section (blocked off for repair), a pair of small doubles with a quick 180 turn between them, then what I call a triple step-up jump plus 120 deg left turn combo, back down and to the front straight. Width was maybe 10ft but didnt measure.

My skills were rusty as I hadnt been able to run my bike much at all this summer, let alone this year. I was able to run 3 packs before I had to go. Nice thing was going on a Monday track was empty so no crashing into anyone or moving out of the way, etc so I could crash without worries and sure takes pressure off too. I was able to pull off a full lap here or there as I tried different things. Lots of room for improvement in my skills and bike setup so running multiple clean laps are my next goal. At the end of 3rd battery I was attempting some of the jumps the 1/8 buggies do. I forgot my throttle epa was turned down to 85% to tame my low speed throttle, but almost cleared the 30ft front double table top section. Big bore rear shock (and e-gyro) make it possible.

Longer write up of the day will be up soon on website - just need to edit video first. I'll share video when its done. Here's some pics:

Sequence of the triple step up. No landing area at very top but one step down its possible. Villopoto lost his head on this section before so I got pissed and hammered throttle on this jump (made it!) and almost cleared the 30ft double table top which I got on vid but no good photos.
