Default TGN looking for "tester" for Losi 5IVE-T Tony Screw Kit

Hello All

We are working with Tony Screws to finish up their full screw kit for the Losi 5IVE-T. This kit like all their kits will be complete and offer every screw possible (almost 500 pieces) in high grade 12.9 alloy. I feel these are the best kits around and we have used them for years on the baja.

Anyone willing to do a full breakdown and test of this kit and change out all their screws AND give proper detailed feedback of issues etc please let me know via email at mark@TGNdistributing.com

Thanks and keep an eye out for this kit soon.

The problem is that just changing the screws for tony's replacement screws does not give you the longer screws that many are changing theirs out for.
I do agree that Tony's screws are great screws and I do have several bins full of his screws, but I would rather buy them seperately and get the longer screws that can be used in the Losi for strength.

Don't jump the gun on this kit because it'll be different than the others. I'm going to be working with Tony on this and he already knows about some of the longer screws needed and I'll be making and sending him a list of what is needed where.

Off the top of my head it'll need
6x20 for all the diffs
4x16 for all the plastics like the side guards, fuel tank mounts, and radio tray
Longer engine mounting screws
Maybe longer center diff top plate screws
I know I'm missing a bunch so post up the sizes you guys would like to see and where they go and I'll let Tony know and then it'll be in his hands but I already know he wants to make this more than just a replacement set of screws and I'll be thinking of it as more of a screw upgrade set.

Oh and I've already asked about maybe including some extra hitec and savox servo horn screws because those suck to lose and aren't just a normal thread or size.

Anyone have the specs on both of those?

Before I send the list of longer hardware I'll post it here and see if I'm missing something or asking for something that's not needed.

I'm pretty sure all the servo horn screws are M3x8 or maybe 10.

Probably the ones that hold the front and rear diff carrier halves together.

The hitec size was posted the other day and it was a funky size.

This is good co-operation to get a product we want without chucking half of it in the part's bin's never to be used.
I have gone completely off stainless, too many rounded out hex heads where you have to put any thread lock, also with my stuffed back and preferring to stand while working on my truck's and buggies, 'it is a mechanic's thing and the reason for the Axis stand being the design it is', I have gone back to steel high tensile where needed or the strongest available in the required size's, but the main reason is I do not need to bend down to pick them up when dropped, I use my heavy duty extending tool to collect them, and also dug out my magnetic parts tray's and wrist band, I also fitted a magnetic rail to my Axis stand for tools and bolts.

That's the idea for this kit is to make it a true RC hobbiest kit that replaces the short Losi screws with the proper size and length.
Ill be starting the list today so if you guys have any request for longer bolts and other hardware post it up and ill relay that message to Tony.

Thanks to Scope75 for his help on this. Tony makes the best kit hands down and he will be working with the public to make sure its the best option for Losi 5IVE-T owners out there.

More news to come.

The case halfs are 5x35mm. Stock is 25mm I compiled a complete list awhile back for the whole truck.

Post that list up because it'll be the same as what I've changed since I got the sizes from you a while back.
Also post where that new longer size goes of you don't mind.

Glad to hear that this is not just going to be a replacement screw set.
If this includes the screws that you and Jones auto have posted, I think it would be great to have a screw set that was already pieced together instead of having to come up with all the different sizes from different companies.
I know Tonys did not have some of the larger sizes when I looked.

Servo screws are 2.5 x .045 x 8mm. I have them in phillips stainless steel. Bolt Depot has everything you need. Ive purchased a set from Tony before but for $100.00 you could have every bolt needed for the truck. Thats 100 count of each size. The only thing that they dont have is the left handed bolts for the shocks.
