Latest from Horizon Hobby:

Horizon Hobby proudly announced their newly expanded marketing partnership with the Stronghold Motorsports short course off road race team. With this agreement, seven-time Supercross champion, Jeremy McGrath and action sports icon, Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg will represent Horizon Hobby and the Team Losi Racing brand in a variety of 2012 marketing initiatives. Along with full size race vehicle branding featuring Horizon Hobby and Team Losi Racing, McGrath and Stenberg will be the focus of a brand new marketing campaign featuring the duo and their 900 horsepowered Stronghold Motorsports Pro2 Race trucks and their scale RC counterparts.

McGrath, took his first win in Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series competition in 2011 and will begin his next assault on the series standings on March 31st at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix with the support of Horizon Hobby. "Team Losi Racing/Losi RC cars are as close to driving my full size truck as it gets," said McGrath. "The cars are cool, realistic and a lot of fun. When I'm not racing, the next best thing is going out and driving my 1/5th and 1/10th scale Team Losi Racing/Losi trucks."

With a host of accolades that include XGames Gold and a SuperLite off road truck championship, Stenberg is set to make his debut this season alongside McGrath in the marquis Pro2 class. "Team Losi Racing makes a hard core RC car. These trucks are fast, powerful and fly through the air with incredible balance and control," said Stenberg. "After hours and hours of racing, they take just as much abuse as my full size race truck. I'm pumped to kick off this season with Team Losi Racing behind us."

Short course off road racing has developed into the hottest segment that the radio control racing marketplace has seen in years. Team Losi Racing/Losi radio control vehicles mimic the excitement, adjustability and durability of full scale short course off road trucks but in a smaller and more affordable package that everyone can enjoy. Horizon Hobby Vice President of Marketing, Shawn Ireland shared his enthusiasm for the 2012 program. "We are proud to continue to expand our association with full scale motorsports as we further align ourselves with the Stronghold Motorsports organization and their drivers Jeremy McGrath and Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg. The professionalism of Stronghold Motorsports makes this a tremendous fit to expand upon our already successful partnership."

That is HUGE! What great news! I love cross-marketing and this type of deal is just what our industry needs. Way to go Losi! Now lets get some racing going on at these motorcross events and get the action in front of these thousands of viewers.

Lucky lucky person, here in the UK we get last years racing broadcast on Motors TV, from January to May once a week until all races shown, or You tube, Lucas Oil sports channel. There is nothing in the UK that compares to this.
I have to stage my own with my HPI and Losi trucks, still waiting on someone to bring a buggy out either Class1 Baja or Short Course buggy either will be good hint hint, Losi or and one of the other's.
Go and enjoy for me lol.

EXACTLY..Its a perfect match with motorcross/supercross and these trucks..Thats why we just got the go ahead from one of the biggest MX facilities here in Colorado to build a 1/5 scale track...Looks like dirt will start moving this week..The owner of the track sees the value in having both on his property..

It's nice to see other companies branching out into the power sports world. That gives us a massive boost in audience and potential for new tracks, sales, participants. It's just a very good thing all around!

That is GREAT! Let us know how we can support what they are doing. At the least we need to let the tgn customers know about it and also get the info up on LSN when its up and running.

Thanks for sharing.

Both of these guys are famous for their MX/SX careers, but Losi is sponsoring the guys shortcourse racing trucks, not their dirt bikes. So you won't see Losi at MX/SX races unfortunately.

Losi sponsored Rob "Fig" Naughton's Pro 4 shortcourse truck last year after the launch of the 5ive-T. It's great that Losi secured some even bigger names this year even if Twitch is new into SC racing and McGrath has had OK success. Losi would have had HUGE visibility if they sponsored Deegan, he's been unstoppable.

Agree, however McGrath is well known in the MX/SX world and what he does touches every MX guy even though they don't follow trucks..RC in general is reaching the MX world with Traxxas and Associated involved in the series either directly or thru sponsorship of a rider..Anyway its good for all of us for sure..

Will do Mark..The idea of this track has only been around for a couple of weeks but its charging ahead fast..There were a number of 1/5 guys out at our local 1/10, 1/8 racing spot and they got the word..They are very excited about this..This will be good for all 1/5 guys in the Denver metro area..If I was a betting man I would bet that 1/5 is going to take off big here..Just a feeling..Every pro nitro guy that has driven our 5ive has just been amazed..Even the nay sayers for 1/5 are changing their idea of 1/5.

Absolutely, just the name McGrath on anything brings incredible visibility. Deegan's name does as well, and the fact that he is on the podium (usually in 1st) would bring that much more visibility.

Yeah I love how the RC companies are sponsoring SX riders, definitely great visibility for the RC industry.

I love the shells they are the tits!

This is really bringing the sport/hobby to the masses. Off road truck racing in the UK just doesn't exist.
But I do like it.
