Default Servo troubles

Anyone else had bad servos from losi?
6 min. Into my very first run the truck went full throttle no rx response straight for me. I was able to slow it down a small bit with my foot but slammed into a fence behind me. Immediately took it back to the shop I bought it from. We determined the steering servo was either overloading or shorting and causing the rx to reset without going into failsafe.. Got new servo from Jake still had to pay 50 bucks for broken front parts(bummer) anyway went through a full tank of fuel finished my break in and the throttle servo crapped out. It moved but with weak force. The amplifier or something I guess..took it back again this time no support from the shop I needed to call horizon..since I didnt want the truck down till something was resolved I bought a new hitech servo put it in the steering and moved the losi steering servo to throttle. Havent had any more problems but I have only put one tank more through.. Long winded I know but as the gremlins sort out of new products are the losi servos not up to snuff. I have 9 other losi cars and no troubles there..

Did you follow the set up video / instructions for servo travel and end points ?

The throttle and brake settings are around 50%.

My throttle servo also pooped the bed today, unfortunatly I can't get a savox servo locally so I will have to make do with what I can find for now. I'm curious if losi will come out with a "fix" for the servo's or just keep sending out garbage? They did a very nice job with the rest of the truck so it seems odd they would cheap out on the servo(s).

I think They cut a deal with savox and rigged em to fail lol

I got almost 2 gallons out of my arvos before getting tired of slow steering and got a savox.

Seems like they are the way to go for now?

When i got my truck and checked out the servo's (not impressed) I started to look at other options. I've never had a problem with hitec servo's and have the 5745 in my fg cars. So i ordered up a couple of the 5765 these have the same spline configuration so you keep the kit servo horns.
Hope this helps.
Just out of intrest took the stock throttle servo apart it has hs805 printed on the pcb, seems to me to be an early version of the old hitec 805b.

Nitro-killer, thanks for the heads up! Small pieces of info like that are handy, I was really hoping to keep the stock servo horn if I could help it.

is that the meaty mount? can you do me a favor and take a side view picture. I had my steering servo fail, and i ended up getting the 5755. did you modify the radio tray at all?

Ten min into setting my losi up me throttle servo burned up. I call losi and they sent me a new one. Under the losi S900T sticker was Hitic HS805BB.

So it's what i thought the servo is a 805b, not a top servo but good in it's day.
As i said before The hitec 5765 has the same spline configuration so you can use the stock servo horns and as it's digital, programmable you can adjust the end points, neutral points and failsafe if your radio dose'nt.
This is also the newest version of there large scale servo's the old hs 5745 has different splines so you wont be able to use the stock servo horns.
The mounts for the servo's.
I made from 12mm bar aluminum machined to take m3 cap head bolts in to servo tray using the original holes. Counter bored so they sit flush, then made another set of holes tapped to m3 to pick up with the new servo.
The radio tray for throttle mount had to have 12mm machined off to lower the servo and keep linkages free from binding. The steering on the other hand works perfect with added 12mm mount.

What about using the HS-5805MG as a direct replacement? Has anyone had any luck with these?

A much better servo. I have 2 paired up in my 1/5 mt truck for steering. I had to use the programmer to set thing right. But the power is much better and the metal gears will last compare to the nylon gears.

All The editing was done by THE TROLL YOU AJ, Every comment I posted on that topic was edited by the Troll and I re-edited back again. Until every comment I made was deleted that wasn't his way. Couldn't HANDLE THE truth That I have no problems with the 805 servo YOU said it was JUNK! keep on trash talking. You-HE even posted the link to her. Well I made sure it was posted for all to see after it was edited and removed. If the tread was not all Deleted and edited by the TROLL you would see the whole story. The post went well beyond the last post saved. It was all edited or deleted and locked so I couldn't post anymore. That is censorship and moderator abuse. Everyone has a word and it should not be block or edited or deleted.

I made You look like the clown after I posting the link to here. There is always two sides to the story. All You saw was a Troll censoring the responses. To justify his EGO.

The fact is that the Hitec 805 servo is not junk. I have used them for 20 yrs. I have never striped out a gear set. Only sheared off the output gear. Easily fixed with a new gear set. The rebranded losi servo in this tread is a 2011 servo vs. a 2020 and has no replacement parts list??????? It was a knock off clone not made by hitec. All losi products are rebranded junk! A nylon servo should not be use for a throttle servo in any largescale truck like that.

The whole tread was a one sided story nothing but trash. Just like YOU !!!! I hope you enjoy the mail I sent you!!!!!
