Thanks, the cars handled better with the grass in most of the turns compared to last year when it was all loose dirt. Much better grip all around with any type of tires. Since their is no water to keep the tracks dirt/dust down and compacted, I may spray a certain chemical that will kill all weeds, but leave the grass...for now, and if the situation changes later in the years, I'll modify accordingly.

I was out there with Tyler and the track was looking good a little dusty in the far back turn but then it's alway dusty back there the traction with the grass was great I was running crushers and they were great put a good 40-50 laps in before my front right cv went and ended the day since I didn't bring my spare with me all in all it was a good day

Might be free. I might want to work on the drivers stand. I've got an idea that might allow us to finish a stand in a few hours...

For those interested, the stand will be 6' off ground, 15' wide by 5-8' deep, no steps involved at the moment, we'll use the slope of the hill for now. I've come up with a total cost around $450.00, anyone interested can pm me, and if enough people pitch in, it should only cost about 40-60$ each it'll require about an hour to dig 6 holes 4' deep, drop in some 6x6x10', attach 6 hardi boards/plywood, back fill with dirt, add some 4x4 and 2x4 to make railings and we'll be done in no time. Then once all finished, I'll grab a roll of synthetic turf left over from a job and install over the dirt. I spoke with the village and they don't care too much about retaining walls...this setup mimics a retaining wall so, no permits necessary, no problems with village.

I would be interested in pitching in some green, but just curious how the lumber bill adds up so fast?

All prices are from home depot, I might be able to get a discount, but not guaranteed:All pressure treated "4" 6x6x10' @ $30.40 + tax=133;"6" 4x4x8' @ $7.60 +tax=50.16; "8" hardi-board 1/2"thick 3x5 @ 12.47 +tax=110, "6" 2x4x16'@ 7.60 +tax=50.16; $55 for bolts/nuts/screws. That's around $400.00, but if we need anything else, I added another 10% just in case, so we're looking at around $450.

I might be able to switch the 6x6 to 4x4, but I/m not sure if that will hold the weight of the retaining wall. So I am being cautious, however its up for discussion.

Default 5th Scale Track in Gilberts

I would use the 6x6's or 4x6 better to over build a little then under build
I would get 14' 6x6 and use them for railing supports less cutting
Set the posts lay the deck add railings and done

14' not available at stores or online, I'd have to special order them...52.97 each. 4x6x14 @28.59, special order from menards, which is just down the street as well

Too bad Lumber 84 closed on Rand Rd.

How soon are you looking at doing this Tyler? I figure if we put it up this year the seasons almost over and it'll sit out all winter; on the flip side if we have a bash day a railing might be a nice add on for the stand. I know on Labor Day if we go to Gilberts I was hoping to maybe grill and drink beer
