Got a wedding on Saturday and might have the kids on Sunday so I'm out unless I can pawn them off on a family member

Gonna go check this track out today. Is the 12:00pm open time due to noise? I am gonna go out there with my Baja 5b flux and my little guy with a electric bandit. Can I run earlier then 12:00 or no? Not a big deal. Just curious.

Thanks

Welcome to RCLS. You can PM t2k (the track owner) with your questions. I believe the track hours were in line with the local noise ordinance. It shouldn't be a problem since you'll be running electric vehicles.

Hey Brian (cavwrench),

Welcome to the forum. From talking with Tyler the times are mostly for noise ordinances. Not sure the condition of the track, I know it was trimmed about a week ago. Normally when we run on it its all dirt and no grass, buts its been rough getting out there this year.

Hope to catch up with you Monday or Tuesday at work. Later.

Dave

Hey Guys, I know the tracks hasn't been the best this year; Rain and a lack of use has been a big contributor this year, even I haven't had a chance to run much this year. Whenever I have gotten a chance, I've had the grass cut, it's usually once a week or once every two weeks. Last year we had a lot of use and the track was in good condition, it also was dry and kept the weeds/grass from growing, but we had lots of dust. I can spray with round up, but with out any use, the weeds will keep coming back with the rain we've had, its allowed them to grow like wild fire.

The times are mostly for noise ordinance, I started the weekdays later in the day cause I figured most people wouldn't be there at 7am and bajas/5ives are much louder than your usual everyday equipment, however, weekends are longer as everyone usually has it off and wants to have a good time.

Before the Bash day which is still To be discussed, I'll spend some time prepping the course and make sure we'll all have a great time.

Ditch the round up! I've had much better luck with "yearlong weed and grass killer" or "yearlong vegitation killer". It costs a bit more but it actually works for one year!! Make the switch and you will be glad you did!

I have that stuff, expensive here in ill., need licence to buy, which I have. I would too, but dept of agriculture and EPA have this place on their radar as it was an old battery busting facility, they cleaned it all up, tried to make us pay for it, wanted 2 milion, but we didn't create the mess, someone else did in the 60' & 70's.

round up's safe as its got a half life of only 30 days or so, and dept of agriculture doesn't mind me spraying that.

Thanks Dave, I couldn't sign in to post up that the track was cleaned up this morning. I'll be killing the weeds and grass on Monday. It should be good for our late year bash

Yes, it's drivable after a a few hrs, and even if you didn't wait that long, it wouldn't harm anything else
