Picked up a hero3. Am hoping to get to the track with it soon. How's the track looking these days? Probably pretty wet after this rain. The drought is officially over in Illinois. Enough already!..lol

The rain is helping smooth everything over that we worked on last year, but now I can't add or shape any of the trouble areas because I can't even get in there most of the time because the track is too wet or the new dirt is too wet. And as usual, spring is here and I'm working overtime to keep from falling behind.

Once the rain slows down, along with work, I'll start getting stuff pulled together.

Me and my brother in law hit the track Saturday. Its pretty overgrown and really needs a lot of attention before it will be driveable. It would be nice if it's layout was simplified. Even if there was a driver stand it has too many slow turns that seem to blend together. The double jump needs to be smoothed out so the trucks can hit them at higher speeds without nosediving and endo-ing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that the track is open to all. I was just disappointed that after waiting all winter to get out there it was in pretty rough shape. My 150 dollar SC body was completely destroyed by the end of the day Saturday. I've ordered a roll cage and brother in law has offered up titanium sheets for me to fab out panels. Lets see that break! Titanium, hell the crappy plastic bodies cost like they're made out it...lol

The track needs to be sprayed with RoundUp to kill off the grass and weeds. I don't have a gas weed eater or a mower or I'd bring one to cut the stuff down. I still maintain that the track layout is too busy. Fewer turns with more straight aways and jumps situated so you're looking at them more in front of you. I'm thinking about getting a sturdy 6' ladder to stand on for a personal driver's stand...

Read on another forum that Tyler was out there doing some grass cutting in the field and parking area and some of the track but was unable to trim around all the pipe due to time and weather

Fred a 6' ladder is great I like to bring one myself gives you a better sight of the track

We all need to set something up one of these weekends to get out there and do some need maintenance. I have a gas weed eater and other tools

I've got plenty of weed eaters and such to get the job done, just had a super busy start with work along with 7 mowers needing major repairs thats chewed up quite a bit of my free time. and I'll be able to get more done soon as my sons soccer season which is almost over, and now don't think my pickup can make the trip to silverlake, so I'll have sometime then.

I'll give people a heads up on some work days these next few weekends.

Was out there yesterday with Tyler for a few hours we did some edging around the piping and worked on moving the last turns bank we also filled in a bunch of holes and started to add a landing to the second jump on the front straight all all it was a good day but had to cut it a little short due to party's we both had to go to for the game. We ran for only a few minutes but found a few changes we need to make in the next few weeks

Thanks Kevin for the help yesterday. I should have the next Saturday open for a while again, but will be leaving early again to watch the Blackhawks. Post up if anyone might make it, I know quite a few are going to large scale.

Sweet, I'll be there around 9:30 till 2:00ish. Planning on installing some pipe, grading dirt, and maybe raising the drivers stand a bit more. Already planning on packing the cooler with beer and water this time....no more supplying pop for "shoeless"

I'll try, but I've got a boat-load of wrenching to do before PJ. Let me know which day you end up going.
