Question Re: Yama Buggy - Repairs, upgrades, mods and anything else

This thread is getting quite long now its hard to find information from older posts. anyone else think that it could be spilt up into new more specific ones?
Eg
Modifications
Repairs
Problems
Pics etc

Any ideas or thoughts on this?

This could be a general thread about Yama buggies where people can ask questions but if it's been answered before you could just direct them to the appropriate thread. That's what I was trying to say!

good idea zakr :) but i think it would be better if we ask the Admin to make a Sub-Forum on the specific rc type thingy on the main forum page. There everyone could post questions and general talk on the aowei. What you think off that? ;)

Sounds good I mean if it had its own category it might bring in more Yama buggy drivers which will result in it being noticed and upgrades being made.
Do you know any admins

thought it would be fun if i took out my buggy in the snow :L was driving all well, getting stuck here and there but after like two minutes the engine just sort of boged down and slowly shut itself off. Switched it back on and the same happened like 15 secs later. So i took it home and put under the heat fan. Started it on a stand and the revs kept on going up and down. Let it idle for good 5 mins and it was all well again idling nicely. What happened?

Just to let you guys know it's a 3.2 mm c/e clip inside the shocks. Glad I bought two different sizes now.

Ok I must have been wrong about taking apart this shock because it's not possible to put the shaft inside the shock and put on the c clip.

The base of the shock has a black end that I can't remove and I cant remove the ball join on the end of the shaft either.
Any help? Please

Can you see the shock body in my picture? With the black bit at the end? That black bit will not come off

I got it just now! Had to use vice grips and adjustable spanner but I got it. Ruined the front shock in the process but it should survive a little while as long as it doesn't leak.

Moe-hpi. Your carb probably got frozen, the moist air being sucked into the engine turning to ice. It happens a lot on older motorcycles in extreme cold conditions. You can get a fuel addative from halfords made by Winn to stop this happening

wheel / axle bearings have a code 608RS

a quick google seams like they are popular enough

there are two on each wheel front and back so 8 in total
outer diameter (whole thing) 22mm
inner diameter (hole in middle) 8mm
depth/thinkness 7mm
those are measured with a ruler though so pretty rough guides

any where else there might be bearings hidden away?
