Oi oi oi,
Does anyone have any advice on the next upgrade I should do on my baja for more power? So far I have only upgraded the spark plug aha (NGK CMR7H)
Im thinking of getting a new carb as it's not performing to well and an air filter to go with that. Plastics have been holding up well
Thanks

Changing the spark plug has no performance at all. A walbro 668 or 997 carb is stock and fine.

I have upgraded my carb to a 813 and there is a definite performance increase, as I can accelerate faster. Tuned it, Took it out for a bash and as it was wet, I started to drift. Done this before on ice but couldn't get it to slide on just the wet. With new carb is easy to start to slide but I popped a tyre :( Ordering some soon, with maybe some new wheels. What should I upgrade after? Thinking of an air filter but thats already a definite , just dont know what to upgrade afterwards.
Thankssss

The 813 is the same as the 990 carb with out choke. the 1107 is the same as the 813 and 990 carb with a choke no choke lever. The lag in response with the stock carb is from the low not set correct and too much oil mix and or the filter screen plugging up.. Too much oil chokes the engine and slows down the response. 32:1 oil mix is fine.

I dont know if you confused when I said started to drift, with the lag, I purposely drifted it aha. But thankyou for the information, im currently running 25:1 oil mix. If I changed to 32:1 would I see a performance increase? also would the engines performance not decrease over time? due to less lubrication?

I run 40:1 with no problems and many others are using 50:1. 32:1 is safe and you will use less oil and see some improvement. With 25:1 you are fouling the plug out and clogging up the carb filter faster causing a lag. Only use synthetic quality oil.

NO Elhombre999
I`m not saying that one should sell the Yama.
I`m saying that the Yama straight out of the box is not very well engineered, and money has to be spent on the buggy to improve the performance and the reliability.

Kind regards
