Default HPI Baja 5SC 1/5 Scale Flux Brushless

So it's 100% official now. HPI is showing sneak peek video on YouTube and the prototype truck was ran in NY a few weeks ago at Hostile.

Did anyone see it run? Thoughts?

Will you go brushless if you had an affordable option?

I know myself I love my brushless baja 5b. Whenever I am in the mood to drive but I do not want to deal with the gas, oil and the noise. I pull out the brushless for some high speed runs. Expensive? Yep! Short run time? Yep. Fast and Fun? HELL YESS!

What are you thoughts on a Brushless 1/5 Scale?

I am taking the plunge. I need something that is large scale, yet quiet enough for a campground.

I would not go brushless.Thats why I like the baja so much.the gas the oil the noise and the long run times, the speed is not there but I will take run time over speed.

If it was affordable. I think this will be a key factor on whether or not this can be successfull. Affordable and durable enough to handle the power. I am curious to see the drive system in this truck!!!

We still have 3 other gassers. I am planning on getting another 4X4 too. I just haven't decided on which one.

I have heard the price is under 1000.00 and it wieghs less then 10 lbs. and hopefully will be out bt Christmas. It should be a game changer and I heard this from socal people close to HPI...take it with a grain of salt but I beleive it myself.

Noise is one of the biggest issues I believe people in time will choose brushless. Not because the owner of these would not like the noise but because the people around them. Campgrounds in particular as well as neighbors around tracks and good driving locations.

I can't begin to tell you how many places I not been able to drive my baja because of noise alone. So this is a key factor or me in seeing these trucks more readily available.

If that is true then it's great news. $700 would be even better. ;) And at 10 pounds or less the requirements on the overall strength would be reduced by a little.

Looking forward to seeing one in person.

I think the Savage platform would make a great BL rig. The Savage drivetrain will take the power, it is light and parts are cheap. Is it what we consider a "traditional" large scale? No. Do I think it will be fun to bash on? Oh, hell yes!

I would be interested in getting one for sure as you guys said, ive been told off many times by people simply cause of the noise. Some people piss me off cause we are only trying to have fun.

But on the other hand i have a savage flux and that thing flys, I imagine the baja flux is going to do the same especially being 4wd.

And i must say the electric is alot easier just plug in and go, batteries arent that expensive. Ive got 3 sets under $250 and that gets me about 2.5 hrs of run time if i charge one set when one runs out.

Im all for the electric version but i would like to see HPI step up and make a 4wd gas to.

I think 5th BL would b fun and has its place, But for me the attraction for LS was the 2 stroke. I love the smoke and noise, I did the BL thing in 8th and 10th, Just last year I dumped all my small stuff to focus 100% on LS.. Any NEW addition to LS will be greatly welcome'd by most people. I wont be putting the money into one myself because I dont wanna have to add the Batts, different chargers and all that other stuff to my already busting at the seams tool box.. Not gonna rant about how HPI kicked me in the knee with not coming out with a 4x4 gasser, I'll just grab the Losi and wait and see what HPI does later.. I will however be watching all the cool vids that people will be posting on this new monster.. Good luck to all who grab one of these new beasts..

Yeah I myself would like to see batteries have larger capacity and have their prices reduced. I would also like to see chargers get simpler and less expensive too. Those two things I think would drive more people to brushless. Over time it will happen, it has with 1/10 scale stuff so I am sure it will with 1/5.

It's a breaker. My Losi 5t was a better value.
