Addict | ![]() Boat came today. It looks like I will need to do a little gel coat repair. Pulled engine out checked for spark and did a compression test. Engine is good. I went the the whole engine replaced the stock junk bearings and inspected the cylinder. Looked like it was hardly run. Engine is all back together except for the back plate. I stuffed it and need the JB weld to dry overnight. That should be done tomorrow. I can now focus on the hull ,tank lines , wire to the kill switch and check the water pump. Overall not to bad. I just need a radio box. Install servos and done. Last edited by king quarterscale; 10-24-2020 at 07:23 AM. |

Addict | ![]() Tested engine before I went on holiday. I had to replaced the carb with a new one to get motor running . Tested water pump too. All works good now. I will rebuild original carb this week. Found radio box and ordered it along with some bites so everything ready to install. |

Addict | ![]() Just about finished. The radio box was more complicated than I thought. It wasn't exactly the same as my other boats. The boat is smaller and that changed the position of the rudder servo. Overall I finished the radio box mounted the servos and installed the radio box. The servo both work fine. I just have to lock the motor down and seal the radio box and it's finished. All that is left for the few chips on the gel coat to finish. Which I have to order something new to fix the gel coat. |

Addict | ![]() Took it outside today and ran it for 5 minutes. It starts easy and the idle is super! Everything works good. Finial testing will have to wait until spring. |

Addict | ![]() Finished installing needle bearings in struts on both boats. Now I working on some spare motors I picked up cheap for my boats. Only Homelites. One was just a short block with full crank and head. Other was a complete motor. I cleaned it up and got it running as it was and noticed how much loss of power it had. I removed the restrictor caps and it really opened up! I cleaned the carb and replaced the filter screen and now it runs real smooth. The stock carb was a C1u. It's ok but the Walbro 363 is way better. All my parts have arrived to start rebuilding the Zenog2d parts motors I have. I had enough spare parts for 2 more motors. |
