Default My Carbon Elcon MT

Hi All,

here's a thread about my car. After my alu chassis bend I wanted a carbon chassis, also because it looks badass. I always loved the HPI Baja carbon chassis but I couldn's find one for the FG. At least not one I wanted to afford.
SO I started reading about using carbon fiber and made a template/mold from MDF wood. What started as a winter-project in Jan-10 is now finished LOL It has driven in various versions in the mean time but I can now say that the car is how I want it to be. It's tough and drives well (trying to keep up with the Losi of Superspeedy LOL). Just put in gas and drive .....

I made the chassis and some 8-10 mm carbon plates to make parts from, like the front and rear shock towers and center brace. The servo plate was also made with the chassis template. The rear carbon shock tower did not survive and I made a new one of 10mm high quality alu
The latest project completed was the roll cage bend from 12mm delrin and the dust cover (part umbrella, part wire netting).

Greetz, E

Very nice! I almost find the dust cover to be the most impressive part ;)
