Default My FG 4WD Baja Competition

I got this rig from Ted at Dark Soul. To say he gave me a "deal" is an understatement. I have yet to get it on the track, but I have put a little fuel through it. This car is so solid. I have never owned a 5th scale that tracks as nicely as this one.

Here is a run down of what it is running.

-DS billet case
-DS 4b shell
-Zen Marine cylinder
-Walbro 813
-Hitec 5745 x2 Steering
-Hitec 5645 x2 Throttle/brakes
-RamTech FG to HPI wheel adapters
-4 Proline Trencher tires
-4 HPI gun metal grey T wheels
-DS red Mini Wave aluminum beadlocks
-DS red Nautical Star wheel nuts
-Killer RC Killer Kable

That new MCD is very nice. I haven't seen one run yet, but it looks like a very well thought out car.If it runs anything like the RR V4, it will be wicked. MCD is making big waves these days.

Hey aren't we supposed be talking FG?

As long as we are on dirt, you are on. I like pizza you better bring two wallets.

But if you are talking about that straight line racing.... I don't want anything to do with your car.

Thinking... Yes,But with the weather we have had, today isn't the day....
Looker2756's air boat is better suited to these conditions.
We are getting closer though.

Thumbs up

That is one Amazing car ! I know that Ted did put some great work into it & made it look even better too, with the cool wheels & tires. Now I just can't wait to see it on a race track. Highway's healing time has been well spent as well, so this FG & his new BAJA are both looking good & nearly RTR ( Ready To Race )

I had the FG out today for a drive. It was a blast to drive. The run got cut a little short due to a broken universal shaft. I would like to get a one way front diff for it when I replace the drive shaft.

First ever FG comp. I've been around running. Very cool ! I look forward to when it's fixed, cause then it will get to show it's self on the track. Can't wait to see that. What a Cool car though, So smooth, & with FG pipe even quiet. Bummer it snapped the drive, but it was running Very well !!

That DOES look good with those T tires. Not a fan with stock tires but this looks cool for sure.

Ted has too many toys. What else you getting rid of? I'll take it! ;)

Have you fixed the rear-end rear lower hinge pin holder on your Baja yet?

HAHA, just recently. ;)

My same dune car I have had since the first Dunetoberfest is still my main car, its the one in this video:
now running the BZM-Micro 40cc. Just for testing purpose though...

To say its "been around" is an understatement.

That FG is one of the best handling machines I have ever owned. The only issue I have had with the Trenchers is the amount of side bite they have. Thay are great on loose dirt but really dig in in high traction surfaces.

Maybe a set of Pitdawg windows would make it less wierd. LOL I should get with you on making a pattern for these cars.I would like to put windows on it.

Well, I just found a place to get my front universal shaft. I can't wait to get this beast up and going again. I am just glad it will be fixed before the race at Power Jam. I am going to take the opportunity to tear it down and go through it with a Torx driver and some Fast Eddy thread lock. I may try to get a front one way diff too.

I run one of these and would like some windows on it, as I had to remove the driver figure, to clear the Samba header pipe,
it looks a bit strange not having it in the cockpit. I also cut the body round the fuel cap the same as the race Bajas have it, so I do not have to remove any of the body for refueling.
It has made it easier to remove the body, and not having to remove the front cage everytime,
I used two HPI side rear pod pins and R clips for the front instead of the nuts and bolts to keep it together.
