Default Baja Beetle - Taking on a few radical changes

Hey guys.

I am doing a baja beetle but I want to do a few radical changes to it.

Firstly i wanted criss-cross rear shocks and revo like front.

I have acheived the rear shocks after machining a few parts, but it looks somewhat naff right now, however the concept does work.

I need to think of a cleaner design.

Quite some time since last looked in on this, look's good.
Is that an opal illusion or is the spur gear a little low.
The first picture show's the rear are semi in board why have you changed this is it a space issue. The cylinder's at the rear are they going to be air or hydraulic, as I assume they are compression bump stop's as per the 1-1 Sort Course and Trophy truck set up. I thought about using some 1/10th touring car shock's minus the spring's and a very light oil, seeing this has made me go and dig out the shock's and bracketry I have made up, I did it for my HPI 5T but think it may be easier on my Losi 5ive-T as there is a lot more room.
I saw a set up on a 1/8th buggy that used one shock per side, so one did both front and rear and an extra shock on the rear with no spring, it seemed to work very well unless you were going over offset bump's, it got a little choppy, it either needed thicker oil a stiffer spring or IMO an extra shock each side up front as per the rear set up, but that would negate the original idea maybe!.
Please continue posting your progress it is an interesting project, what with the shock setup and also the four wheel drive conversion.
