Default Dragster Beetle

LOL. yup, i did it again!

i made a conversion to a single shock setup, swaybar, added front brakes, and a metal rear brake setup.

i added a 2 speed and some Hostile AT's and HPI dirtbusters on some XRC RC2 rims

the suspension choice allows me to run all tires now, from onroad to the original monster tires.

i added a wheelie bar yesterday, but it did not make this video.
(this means i gave you a big wheelie or 2)

Looks like you converted a Pro to a 2 shock system.

Nice.

thanks dude.

I made a few changes in that buggy.
i dropped in a CC racing promod (26cc), i changed to hostile slicks and desparado's in the rear. 18/46 1st, 22/42 2nd. using an aluminum ZEN clutch (without clutch pads) reversed with an 8k stall spring.

i decided to try going from a 16t to an 18t layshaft gear this week. the buggy needed maintenance anyway. it was going 70.2mph before, how fast do you think it will go with 2 more teeth in the layshaft?

a 2 teeth change on the layshaft makes a difference, its just enough to overpower a good setup.

it appeared to have a bit more top end, but the launch was gone. it made too much heat in the clutch, bell, and siezed the inner race of the carrier bearing to the layshaft.

i sanded/smoothed the 2 speed layshaft. not happy with it, but it's cleaned up. i also went back to a 16t layshaft gear,

not so nice on the layshaft carrier. i was able to replace the bearing, but the race looks bad to me. for insurance, i drilled and tapped hole on the carrier to lock the bearing in place with a screw.

im leaving shortly for marrero, la to run again. the midnight club is waiting.
