Default Large scale Motorcycles?

I think it would be cool to have a Large scale motorcycle section.

I have a modded Ol' "Ricky" Bike that is fun as hell. I will be picking up one of the venom's when I get some extra Coinage to play with. There is a learning curve to them, but they are a blast....

Lets see your bike Badger!

I have an old RC bike that I only ran 3x. I'd like to tweak on it a little and add a brushless system.

Nice, I'd like to see what mods you did to your "RC" bike.

I scored an AR Racing ARX 540 bike from Jason a couple years ago, drove it a couple times and just put the second electric gyro in it last week (long story, the first electric gyro was fine). This time I put a Tekin RS Pro / Redline 8.5 motor w/ 14mm high torque rotor, with the electric gyro the bike is amazing how stable it is at slow speeds. It's a bad ass bike for sure. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

I looked last night on my comp. for any of Ricky, Couldn't find them. He is still packed away from moving but I will probably get to him this weekend.

The bike still looks pretty stock, But under Ricky's plastic is an older Novak 6.5 combo, an upgraded steering servo and saver, Revo rear shock, modded front forks and I forget what else. I built it years ago.

I still have some parts waiting to be installed.... I have some upside down forks, a chain drive conversion, and a rear gyro/wheel assembly from an ARX 540.

I am trying to ignore the new Venom crosser,it is the best put together bike out there.
I was thinking of getting the one HobbyKing sell "Quanum or something like that".I saw the Venom crosser at the 2010 Nuremburg show, then nothing I thought they had not got the response from the public, and put it back in the cupboard until there was more interest!.
But no they had gone away and completely redesigned it, to the point of near perfection.
The other one badged as the Anderson, basically the same as the Duratrax one for your country, it is like compareing a toy with a hobby model, thats not to say that the Duratrax/Anderson are bad, far from it, but it comes down to cost the Venom is nearly 150 dearer than it's nearest rival.
I might be able to get this, as I promised my wife no more Truck's or Buggies, no mention of getting a motor bike, as at the time of promising to the wife a crosser was not on the table.
Shame I would really like a 5SC SS kit. I have'nt built a kit since my Kyosho ZX5 Lazer, that show's how long ago that was.
I had also bought an FG Marder Buggy, and was eyeing up the all new HPI 5B Baja buggy, lol.
Does'nt time fly when you are still on your first childhood, not yet into my second one.
My wife keeps asking me how old I will be when I grow up!!.

I knew I should've taken some pics before I brought the bike to the local track. Click the image to open in full size.

Ouch!! Is that a replaceable mount piece or is it totally trashed? Almost looks like the fork tube is bent also?
I bet it was fun until that happened lol

Knowing Badger, that happened in like the first minute

But that does suck, is that an easy fix, or is the main chassis screwed?

It was fun, the steering is still needs to be fine tuned but I was able to get around ok. It was able to easily clear a couple big jumps, it was so cool looking flying in the air, it got cheers from the people watching when I landed them clean.

Haha, yeah I was only able to run about a half a pack before I collided with the damn 1/8 scale going the correct direction on the track.

It's a simple fix, broke the steering connection rods which are a $16 replacement. The fork tubes are not bent, probably because these two plastic steering connection pieces are the only thing connecting the front fork with the bike which appear to be the weak link. I would much rather break these plastic steering connection pieces then the front fork.

Here's a pic of what broke.

Lookin good. Looks like I'm going to have to do something with mine now. Lipo and brushless sounds like a good start. Hopefully the belt drive will hold up. Is there any way to get a chain conversion these days or are these old news?

The chain drives are still available. There is a few websites that carry aftermarket goodies for Ricky. One is 2 wheel hobbies if i remember correctly.

When I built mine, it was pre lipo and brushless was just getting popular so I only ran mine on a quality Nimh stick pack and it was plenty fast. With a chain drive conversion and a beefed up gyro, it should handle the modern brushless/Lipo combo.
